Well in this time of global pandemic and self-isolation, I am going to learn a new Hawaiian song each week. Why not? The world needs more aloha and what’s better than Hawaiian music?
This song is “Henehene Kou ‘Aka.” The words and chords can be found in He Mele Aloha, A Hawaiian Songbook by Carol Wilcox, Vicky Hollinger, Kimo Hussey, and Puakea Nogelmeier. Many artists have recorded it. My favorite version is by Iz—Israel Kamakawiwo’ole—on the album, Wonderful World .
